Cahuita
On the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica, Cahuita can be reached from the country’s capital San Jose in roughly three to four hours. It is a 40-minute journey to the south to reach the port city of Limon and a 20-minute drive to the north to reach the well-known beach town of Puerto Viejo de Talamanca.
The town of Cahuita is most well-known for its national park and the genuine cultural atmosphere it exudes. The downtown area is laid out in the form of a grid and is only a few blocks long, yet it contains a lot of local flavors. It is a great spot to explore because of the presence of a number of decent restaurants, a few pubs, tiny stores, and neighborhood houses.
The Caribbean coast of Costa Rica has weather that is most accurately defined as tropical. Mornings that are sunny and hot are ideal for outdoor activities, but they frequently are followed by afternoon thunderstorms or nighttime downpours. This contributes to the jungle’s continued lushness and greenness.
A visit to Cahuita National Park, a beautiful area of the rainforest that is under protection, is an obligatory part of every excursion to Cahuita. You can witness sloths, monkeys, lizards, and even the rare snake, in addition to numerous species of birds.
